About “The Beast Coffee Around the World” Series
We’re Jamie and Jane, and The Beast Coffee Around the World Series is our way of exploring the coffee places that genuinely inspire us and giving something back to the wider coffee community.
Whenever we travel, we naturally end up deep in the local specialty coffee scene, visiting cafés, meeting people, and looking for the places that really stand out. We are drawn to cafés with great coffee, strong identity, good people, and something memorable about the experience. Sometimes it is the cup itself, sometimes it is the space, and sometimes it is the energy behind it. This series is where we share the places that stay with us.
Jamie is a coffee geek and the owner of Black Honey in Sri Lanka, where coffee is never just coffee. It is about flavour, process, hospitality, and creating experiences that people actually remember. Jane, Evgeniia Zorina, is a professional photographer with 13 years of experience, with work featured in many magazine publications. She brings the visual side of the series, capturing each place with honesty, atmosphere, and character.

For us, this series is not just about finding a great cup of coffee. It is a way to support the community by shining a light on cafés and roasters we believe in, and by bringing those coffees into our own filter programme back home. In that way, the collaboration goes beyond a single post or video. It becomes part of something ongoing, where the coffee gets introduced to new people, shared with our guests, and appreciated in a different part of the world.
Our filter program
A big part of this project is also about connection between cafés. Alongside the content we create, we are building a rotating guest filter programme at Black Honey, using coffees we have discovered through our travels and collaborations. The idea is simple: to showcase different coffees in our café so more people can enjoy them through V60 and experience the range, character, and individuality that make specialty coffee so exciting.
